One important feature inside our opinion is when you intend to keep your session configuration (optional), including password, you’ve got the potential for setting up a master password when you look at the preferences menu: your passwords are then protected by a solid AES Cipher (Advanced Encryption Standard ) and should not be recovered easily. Which means that you need to enter your master password each and every time this program will have to access protected passwords, and this can be just a little annoying it is still worth every penny when it comes to added security it provides.

  • One small warning however is the fact that WinSCP installer makes utilization of the OpenCandy advertising application, which pop-up advertisements through the software installation (not when you look at the program itself). As some users might not feel at ease using this, the documentation includes a separate web site relating to this, which first explains that this partnership provides revenue into the development team but that the “advertisement is just shown as a single step of software installation”, that “no unwanted application is installed” and therefore “no personal information is collected” aside from “geolocation, operating system and language”. The documentation finally provides a hyperlink into the OpenCandy online privacy policy web site as well as on simple tips to install the program without one (an easy parameter when starting the installation program or maybe more simple obtaining the executable version).
  • Quick specs:
